Take the Scenic Loop Drive around Grand Teton National Park to take in all the sights of this magnificent park. There are many things to do and see, so take your time and enjoy everything!
You will enter the park using any one of the three major highways. All will join up with the Scenic Loop Drive, which is 42 miles long. Since there will folks coming from all different directions from many highways, don't get confused but consult your map to find the points of interest.
You shouldn't miss seeing the glaciers from the Teton Point Overlook. See what remains from the fur trapper era at the Snake River Overlook. The whole family will enjoy a visit to the Cunningham Cabin for a taste of the Old West. Stop at the Cottonwood Creek Picnic Area for the perfect lunch, and then continue on to view the Bill Menor Homestead.
You'll love the many different plants and animals in Grand Teton National Park. Of course, the best time to view the animals is early in the morning before the sun starts to peek over the Teton Mountain Range. Dusk is also a good time to spot moose near the water.
Three rivers drain the park, one of which is the Snake River. Like to fish? Both the Snake River and the Buffalo Fork are great places to throw in a line. You may very well get the opportunity to see river otters. Perhaps you will see one of the river-dwelling beavers as they feed on willows.
Hiking is a favorite activity of visitors to the park. There are plenty of trails along with the incredible scenery. These trails are easily accessible and vary in length. This is the ideal way to see Grand Teton National Park in all its glory.
