Harriman Trails

Harriman State Park trails are multi-use trails provided for all non-motorized traffic including hiking, mountain biking and equestrian use. Our trail system is over 20 miles long and all rails start at the visitor parking area.

Henrys Fork -- l mile (.62 km)--This easy trail along the river provides scenic views of the mountains and the famous Henrys Fork or the Snake River. This trail is great for fishing access.

Ranch Loop -- l mile (.62 km)--This short loop takes you through the historical Railroad Ranch then along the shore of Silver lake. This trail provides good opportunities to view wildlife.

Silver Lake -- 4 miles (6.5 km)--A wide variety of wildlife can be seen from this trail which circles Silver Lake. You might see trumpeter swans, sand hill cranes or even a moose!

Golden Lake Loop -- 4.5 miles (7.3 km)-- The serene Golden Lake can be viewed from an overlook along this trail. a large herd or elk often grazes in thc meadows at dusk.

Thurmon Creek Loop -- 3.6 miles (5.8 km)-- -This first half of the trail follows a logging road. Then goes into a lodge pole pine forest.

Ridge Loop -- 5.5 miles (8.9 km)--This trail takes you through several forest communities. The path gently slopes then climbs 400 feet to the top of the ridge. The impressive height or the park and the Tetons is well worth the journey to the top.

Ridge Loop Shortcut -- This shortcut to the top of the ridge is steep but takes less time.

Meadow Trails -- These trails follow the routes of the old ranch roads and are ideal for bicycles and horses.

- Watch for falling trees in wind.
- Use caution around wild animals.
- Prepare for rapid weather changes.
