Janet Clarkson Memorial Triathlon is a fund raising triathlon held in memory of Janet Clarkson, a West Yellowstone resident who lost her battle with cancer at age 37. Janet was a triathlete and had competed in many events before being struck with cancer. Proceeds go to athletic scholarships and cancer research. Presentation of awards to the winners and a check to the American Cancer Society follows right after the race.
This is an annual event held at the Madison Arm Resort on the south shore of Hebgen Lake. The triathlon hosts many athletes from Montana, Idaho, Utah and Canada. The race course is entirely within the Gallatin National Forest and does not conflict with any vehicular traffic. Participants will be placed in age categories per the USA Triathlon requirements The water will be tested for contaminants prior to the race. The race starts at 10:00am and should be completed by about 1:00pm
