Wildlife Watching
The amazing forests, mountain meadows and the lakes and streams provide wonderful places to see the wildlife that inhabit this region. Take a side trip to Harriman State Park to see the rare trumpeter swan.

West Yellowstone is the perfect place to enjoy snowmobiling, since the town allows snowmobiles to ride the roads in town. There’s plenty of snowfall in the area, which makes for great cross-country skiing, too. Hundreds of miles of groomed trails take you where you want to go.

Yellowstone National Park
With West Yellowstone being the only western entrance to Yellowstone National Park, it only makes sense to spend a lot of time exploring the park. Visit Old Faithful, Mammoth Hot Springs and all the other erupting geysers and bubbling mudpots.
Yellowstone Historic Center Museum
Here you can see the historic Union Pacific Depot. You can see the exhibits of the vintage Park transportation and see films of the devastating fires that took place in the area in 1988.
IMAX Theater
Constantly showing educational movies about the Yellowstone region, the IMAX Theater, with its huge screen, is a place the whole family can go to enjoy fascinating films.
Wild West Yellowstone Rodeo
If you come to West Yellowstone in June, July or August, you must take in the Wild West Rodeo and thrill to the bull riding, barrel racing and calf roping.
