West Yellowstone Airport (Summer only; May 21st to September 30th)

    West Yellowstone Montana Airport is conveniently located only two miles north of West Yellowstone, Montana. From the airport, you drive on Highway 191 south right into town.

    SkyWest Airlines (code share with Delta) serves West Yellowstone Airport out of Salt Lake City, Utah.
  • Airport Services
    This airport is small, having only one runway and open in the summer season from June through September. Services for those who fly in on private aircraft include parking, fuel, catering and even camping. The campground has fire pits, picnic tables, a pit toilet and a hot shower.
  • Getting To/From the Airport
    Perhaps the best way to explore the Yellowstone region is to rent a car. There are two rental car agencies at the airport – Avis and Budget. Many of the lodging facilities have courtesy transport from the airport to lodging. You can also get a shuttle run by Yellowstone Aviation.

Bozeman Yellowstone International Airport (formerly Gallatin Field) in Bozeman, Montana (90 miles from West Yellowstone)

    Airport is only 7 minutes west of Bozeman, Montana, and just one hour and 45 minutes from West Yellowstone.

    There are numerous daily and weekly specialty flights to Bozeman including:
    Delta/Northwest Air Lines: from Minneapolis-St. Paul, Salt Lake City and Atlanta
    Horizon/Alaska Air Air: from Seattle
    United Airlines: from Denver, Chicago, San Francisco
    Frontier Airlines: from Denver

    During peak summer and winter seasons, airlines provide additional flights to Portland, Los Angeles, Dallas, and New York and New Jersey.

    There are a number of on-site car rentals at the airport, which are Avis, Hertz, Enterprise, National, Budget, Alamo and Dollar. Other smaller independents exist just off-airport, which can offer lower cost alternatives. You can also check with your reserved lodging in West Yellowstone to see if they offer any airport shuttles or transfers. Daily shuttle/charters between West Yellowstone and Bozeman airport exist through Karst Stage. 

Idaho Falls Regional Airport (108 miles from West Yellowstone)

    Idaho Falls Regional Airport offers regional travel for all visitors to southern Montana, southeast Idaho and western Wyoming. This newly remodeled airport is located in Idaho Falls, Idaho and to get to West Yellowstone, simply take I-15 north to exit 119. Turn right on US 20 east and go 107 miles. It only takes about one hour and 47 minutes.

    To get to West Yellowstone, flights via the Idaho Falls Regional Airport include the following:

    Delta Airlines: from Salt Lake City
    Northwest Airlines: from Minneapolis

    In the airport, you’ll find all the services you need as you arrive or depart. There’s a sit-down restaurant, a lounge and gift shop with snacks and reading material.
  • Getting To/From the Airport
    The best way to get around is to rent a car right at the airport. The rental car agencies are Hertz, Avis, National, Budget and Thrifty. You should check with your lodging in West Yellowstone, if reserved beforehand, to see it they provide any shuttle service from Idaho Falls.

Jackson Hole Airport (118 miles from West Yellowstone)

    The airport code for the Jackson Hole Airport is JAC.
  • Location
    Jackson Hole Airport is 9 miles north of Jackson, Wyoming. To get to West Yellowstone, simply get on US 26 to US 89 north. You’ll enter Yellowstone on US 191, which will take you to US 20, right into town. This drive is a little over 118 miles, or 2 hours and 35 minutes.

    United Airlines: from Chicago, Denver and Los Angeles
    United Express: from Denver
    Delta Air Lines: from Atlanta, Minneapolis/St. Paul and Salt Lake City

  • Getting To/From the Airport
    Getting to and from West Yellowstone is best with a rental car. It’s cost-effective to have your own car so you can get around. Rental agencies at the airport are Alamo, Avis, National and Hertz. You can also find economy car rentals off-site with Dollar and Thrifty. Checking with your reserved lodging in West Yellowstone also is a good idea, for they often provide shuttle service from the airport.
